Can I take my disability scooter on the plane?

I am taking a trip to the Philippines and I was wondering if it is possible for me to bring my scooter to Philippines. I am flying on China Airlines, Taipei. Taipei to Manila. Please advise thanks

    You will be able, but consider the following….. you have to check it in as luggage and if more than 50lbs. you should expect to pay excess baggage….
    My best advise, if you can deal without it, you should go like that, it may even be helpful

    since it’s a necessity for you, you can. but the best thing to do is check your airline for any rules and regulations and they might accomodate your scooter and place it for your easy access. different airlines have different procedures and rules so please, check with your carrier.

    It is definitely possible to take it in the “checked baggae” and place it in the cargo hold. You will want to make arrangements in advance and find out what kind of extra charge there might be. It might be easier to ship it separately… or if you have the cash, buy a new one and have it shipped to the Phillipines. When you leave, donate it to someone there who could really use it.

    As for taking it in the passenger compartment, that’s an impossibility as there will not be enough room–but to not fret, they have special wheelchairs to help you get in and out of the plane.
