Is being obese really a disability worth getting benefits for?

I understand if it’s a disease or something where the person has absolutely 0 control over it. Then I feel bad, and they should get the proper surgery/ care.

But I see fat people in their scooters, loading up the basket with candy, junk, soda, and fatty foods. Then, as they swipe their food stamp card they brag about their benefits and how the state bought them a car because they didn’t fit in their last one, and they expect me to feel sorry for them. Then they go on and on about how they cant lose weight no matter how hard they try. I normally point at their sugary and fatty food and say, well at least you’re on the right track to getting better. (is that too rude?)

I used to work in fast food as a teen, and people would order 4 of the biggest fattiest burgers, a chicken sandwich, two large fries, and a side salad with a diet soda. They would get the salad and diet soda because they’re ‘on a diet’. I always wanted to explain that their one meal is the equivalent of 3 days of calories. I don’t get it.

These people get free housing, free transportation, free food, free insurance, free everything, because they decided to be lazy and irresponsible with their bodies.

Why do fat people try to get you to feel sorry for them? Being fat is a choice, not a terminal illness. Should obese people get full benefits if it’s not because of an illness out of their control?

It almost makes me want to give up my perfect body and gain 200 lbs, so I can scoot through life for free. There’s no benefits for being healthy and making positive life choices. i don’t get it.

I do not think with obesity you would get disability benefits. You life is shortened. You ll die young.
Please maintain the healthy body you have. Check you BMI if it falls between 19.5 to 24.5 you are healthy.

Being a fat slob is not a “disease,” except in rare instances. They need a cattle prod to get them busy working.

i suspect that an obese person with disability benefits have other issues. these issues may indeed be associated with or caused by the obesity, but they are issues none the less. Like high blood pressure , or chest pain if they walk too far, or they are unable to stand for more than an hour. These things are necessary to hold down a job. If someone cannot do these things, obese or not, they are disabled and it isn’t in the perview of the government to decide between them.
