Where can I take my 49cc scooter to get tuned-up?
Posted: July 4th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: Common Questions | Tags: 49cc, Scooter, take, tunedup | 3 Comments »The place I bought it was a mom/pop shop and it is not a name brand scooter like yamaha, honda, paggio, etc. It is a cheapie scooter used (mostly) for getting from point A to point B and a few mild road trips here and there. I cannot do much of the maintenance myself because of my disabilities. It is too difficult physically for me so I will need a mechanic.
Although it is still new and doesn’t need any maintenance right now, I need to know for future reference, where can I take it? A regular car mechanic or a motorcycle shop? Where do you take yours?
Might help if we knew where you live, but, answering generically, most bike shops are agencies for one brand or another, and probably won’t work on something that’s not theirs. Might pay to try and find a country garage – you know, one of those that fixes everything from earthmovers to lawnmowers.
Madison , Wi area is college town with lot of little under 50cc scooters- a couple scooters shops do a lot of the scooter/moped tune ups and repairs of many different scooters. if the place you bought it doesn’t service it- check for a college area scooter repair/sales shop. Some motorcycle shops may do general work on other brands- a motorcycle shop that has some scooters like Yamaha or Honda may work on it as they have scooter mechanic already.
