Could someone tell anything on handicap accessibility laws and regulations for public schools?

Posted: February 28th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: Common Questions | Tags: , , , , , , , , , | 3 Comments »

My son is handicap and the school parking lot and is not helpful and I have talked to them several times and have been diplmatic and mad about it but now frustrated I would like to know the laws because the handicap space they gave is not easy to get in buses in the way and parants blocking it all the time and the door that is handicap is on the other side of the school and does not always work asked about a door that is in front of the space and they said to much money that door is locked so can not use a lot of the times and my son can not ride the bus and they do not want him getting dropped off around the school loop like the rest of the kids so what to please help me with the laws…
P.S my son is the only handicap child in the school and only one handicap door plus other things going on in the school with rights being violated…

Handicap Accessibility Violation?

Hey All,

I am going to have a handicap family member visit my apartment in a few days, and something has come up that has greatly upset me. I live on the 3rd floor of an apartment in North Dakota, and the manager of my apartment building has shut off the elevator “until further notice” due to “vandalism.” My family member is in a wheel chair and cannot go up 40 stairs. This apartment was just built last year and has ramps into the building; however, this is the only elevator in the building, and I am infuriated that it was shut off. I believe they are violating some state and/or federal discrimination and handicap accessibility laws, but I don’t know exactly what because I am no lawyer, but common sense tells me they are. Who should I contact who would be able to reverse the situation besides the manager? She has not been of any help after I have called her several times. Thank you very much.

Was there “accessibility” between the Collins submarine design office and the legacy systems design office ?

Does it seem there was “accessibility” between the Collins submarine design office and the legacy systems design office ?

The book “Collins Class Submarine Story: Steel, Spies and Spin” suggests the legacy system was successful.
So it looks like the legacy system was a working model.

But there can be hiccups.

Ryle(1900-1976) argued in his paper “Systematically misleading expressions” (1932) that some quite ordinary forms of expression are ‘improper’ to the states of affairs they record, invite thereby misassimilation to other forms of expression, and so tend to generate complexity, even flat nonsense, from which it is the bisiness of philosophical argument to rescue us.

Lament for Seville, by Abu al-Baqa’ al-Rundi,1267, says (in translation) that “Everything declines after reaching perfection, therefore let no man be beguiled by the sweetness of a pleasant life”.

Murphy’s law cautions us that whatever can go wrong will go wrong.

There is, ” …a danger inherent in all secretive societies for their cellular form devised by the founders for the security of the movement, can as readily be used to ‘hoodwink’ the leadership, who thus become unwitting ‘front men’ for activities they would never countenance.” [from Stephen Knight's "Chinaman" report.]

It seem that something must have been impeding the project BEFORE Bob Clark, Operational Software Manager, SWSC, project and DMO.(see “Steel, Spies and Spin”)

Clark would have assisted to the extent that he could.
Clark would have done what he could, but the “damage to the project might have been too severe”.

All sorts of things might have happened.

Flat nonsense, masquerading as authentic legacy algorithms, might have been issued to the new design office.
Legacy algorithms supposedly “shrink wrapped” would be able to have been doctored, and simulators would also be able to have been doctored, unless there was special encryption technology to foil counterfeiting.

How much money is spent (annually) on handicap accessibility in public buildings?

I’m specifically wondering about things like elevators, ramps, bathroom modifications in public buildings as well as individual housing (apartments etc.) that are required or strongly ‘encouraged’ by law. Region doesn’t matter, just specify where you are talking about, if possible. I’m trying to get an idea of how much money is spent to provide for the needs of specific parts of a population to compare with other data. Thank you, internet, you’re my bestest friend :p

In Illinois, are there any state laws about wheelchair accessibility and slot machines?

Are there any state officials that specialize in this subject? I went to a riverboat casino and had trouble reaching the buttons on some of the slots. As you can probably guess, I am a paraplegic.
